A train has derailed south of Paekākāriki on the Kāpiti line on Tuesday morning.

A passenger train has derailed at Paekākāriki north of Wellington, after flooding and debris on State Highway 1 hit the rail lines, police say.

There had been no studies of damage, however the southbound lane of State Highway 1 is affected, inflicting site visitors circulate points via the world.
